Anyways, this is the day of the amazing gamers clashing. Dissy was very nervous and wanted to get the games rolling. I read into this as a good sign. He says he doesnt care or expect much but I know better
He just says that so nobody gives him shit if he loses and is more surprised when he wins! He REALLY wanted to do well (and thank god he did!). Nick on the other hand fully didnt expect to do well and I think really didnt care. Although, this event I believe rekindled his spirit as well. breaking news
Nick had received an invite to team CJ in korea after blizzcon and had kind of put that off. But after being REINVITED at WCG he accepted. Testie is 90% going to korea and signing a contract with team CJ. For me, this is a dream come true. I have always wanted to see a fully motivated/trained testie in action and I finally get to see it! Additionally, after meeting Testie I am in love with the guy. Really a nice guy, has dignity and is a classy/funny man. The good parts of him that come through online are truly who he is, minus the ego and blind logic he sometimes bolsters online. He will come here and say "ITS NOT FOR SURE!" or something but just know, this is the closest Testie has been to going and actually doing it, I think it will happen
And when it does, all of us need to support and cheer him on. We as foreigners are running out of legit candidates for a non korean pro, lets make it the best we can with what we have!Back to the WCG blog.. Dissy vs savior was awesome. With Jamie and I going a combined 0-6 we needed a ToT to manhandle the scene and represent, Dissy was just the man. Savior btw did NOT throw the game, it was a legit rape on PA (the map savior was supposed to NOT lose ZvZ especially considering he had the better spot on the map).
My perspective on the ra / stork controversy is this: The tourney is a korean ran event, a whole lot of drama was going on with the koreans being favored each time. Stork straight up abused a direct rule that should result in a loss. He didnt need to, and by doing it he was just being an ass. The admins should have looked up the rule and made the ruling that was in print. They didnt because they were terrified of stepping on the toes of some Samsung exec in a suit. White-rA / Ex gain my upmost respect after they actually threw games just to fuck with the koreans, really nice to see them getting a taste of their own medicine. Kudos to PJ for raping savior too, hes my favorite player on earth but I want upsets when it comes to koreans more than success.
Nothing I can remember worth mentioning really, you guys can ask me questions about the game day. I was there for all of it but I am just more interested in reporting how awesome these gamers are in person and how we all interacted, not necessarily what you guys can tell from replays.
Day 4 hotel:
We get back to the hotel (again, Jamie is asleep and crying softly from the drink beatdown I gave him) and begin to assemble a poker game yet again. With all ballrooms squared off and the risk too high we decide to just play a room game. So in my room we set up a table and sit on the beds. Did I fail to mention that we had gotten some booze? I took orders from the Polish squad (Dreiven/Draco), Tasteless and myself. Goody/Testie/Myself and someone else (bad memory) go get the booze. I get myself a bottle of Absolut 100 proof vodka and as a prank pick up the pols a 12 pack of Nattie Ice, possibly the worst fucking beer on the planet (<3 you guys). Anyways, we sit down and start to play. Breakdown joins the game as well as Colbi, Stars and various other germans along with the 3 usuals Mondragon/Testie/Me. I am raping them as usual. Taking down pots and bluffing Breakdown to which he says, "If you ever show me a bluff again, I will fucking kill you." And I think he was semi serious. He called me down and was in every pot I was after that LOL. Stars is the worst poker player on earth. The worst EVER. We were all getting a kick at how bad he was and he didnt seem to notice we were discussing said subject. Colbi was a big grin on his face fumbled through the game and busted. I began making my drinks for dissy and I. That fucker couldnt drink a single one. He laughed and was like "No way am I drinking this!" I had to force him to finish it. He kept adding pepsi each time he drank. Myself on the other hand, possibly motivated by Nyoken's relentless shit talking about how I allegedly did not drink the night of Midian's demise decided it was time to uncork the master drinker that is Geoff Robinson. In a tiny glass I poured my usual 5-6 shots with 1-2 of mixer and proceeded to pound 3-4 glasses of said mix while dissy choked on 1. This made my poker take a turn for the worse, I went from being up $50 to busting and rebuying -> bust rebuy (dissy sponsor) -> bust. The game began to close up when the drinking had picked up and my room had been packed with bodies. My tiny room became maxed and we all decided it was better to move to a bigger room (trev's). This would be the beginning of the end for me. By this time the bottle was gone and inside my ultralisk body.
Wow did I really do these things?
The 20 or 30 of us got up and moved to trev's room. It took what felt like an eternity to get there. I decided it was a good idea to hit every sign on the way there (Not break them) and randomly tackle people. It was all in good fun and nobody seemed to mind too much. Once we got to trev's room our group had grown to around 40 (estimates). Some random girls were walking around the room and I think I small talked with them. Michelle and Susie were there but I just remember them being cowards on the bed. Probably checking me out. Lets just go with that, they were wishing I was in the bed with em. Yeah that sounds about right. Anyways it was around this time that the fluids had really settled with me and iNcontroL was (Yes its actually true for once) outofcontrol HAHA ZING. But god damn I am lucky. I picked up a glass and threw it (well I tried) onto the deck but missed and hit the TRACK in front of the screen door. Inches away from shattering a glass door. The glass smashed and everyone was like "WTF mATE?" I didnt have a good explanation. Trev came over (wow he was cool about it, I would have been PISSED) and was like "Please dont do that ok? You could do some real damage." I was fine with that, no more glass needed to be smashed it seemed. Dreiven and Draco were at this time equally drunk and all about the scene. They were fucking around with me and the others helping me to not be the only ass there. Well that is a mischaracterization, EVERYONE was really drunk, so nobody minded my ultralisk mode (afaik). Everyone was sitting around having a good time and I came up with the best idea ever. Team Ronald Reagen. Fucking non-korean pro team. All I need is 1 million dollars and I will have Ret/Testie/Mondragon/Sen/Draco on 100k salaries pro-training with practice partners like Nyoken(tvt), idra, dreiven, midian etc etc. We would destroy the scene. For example, I discused in a not so quite voice how garbage eSTRO is and how Reagen would tear them apart. Dissy has a video of me discussing this, perhaps someone can upload it. Testie/Draco/Mondragon liked the idea and it was settled. But before doing that I recruited everyone to ToT. Draco/Dreiven and others with Susie/Stars as managers. From this point it gets hazey. I allegedly tackled people and lost an arm wrestle to Nyoken (which I was informed was bs, since Testie jumped on my arm). Someone said I fell in a chair in the corner and looked like a turtle when I tried to get up.
Anyways I cannot confirm nor deny these allegations. I would need Susie, Dissy or someone else to tell the story from their perspective. Also I heard the polish boys got CRAZY drunk and smashed up the hotel while wearing beer helmets. The party also got broken up by security.
I hope someone else follows suit and tells some stories. Susie has no life, she should be good for a big blog. Also MNM loves to type so maybe with some begging she could do it.
Anyways, I had the time of my life. BW truly has some special people involved and I cannot wait until the next big meet. Any questions? I will answer them.
