Hi to anyone who's actually reading this. So I've been playing like 16 games so far today, on iccup that is, and guess what? I've won 4 of those, you do the math.
I don't know what went wrong, but I do know that this always happends to me when I play ladders. If I lose lets say... 3 or 4 games in a row, It's just like I'm cursed to go on a losing streak the entire day. My play is totally off, decision making totally off, macro off...... etc.
The day started of quite okay, I went 2-2 the first four games, so that's basically 50/50 and that's fine by me. But then I see nony answering to my "C Gaia or Python msg" And I'm like cool, I've always wanted to play nony.
So we duke it out at gaia, and before I know it, i'm down 0-3 in 30 minutes, thats right 30 minutes. NonY just took me to school in the art of PvT, and boy did I get schooled. The one single game where I actually managed to get my expo up, he was just far too superior in macromanagement and a simple 2 arbiter recall ended the game after 18 minutes.
So i'm like uh, gggggggggggggggggggg and I'm thinking maybe it's time I switch opponent after a 0-3 rape. That didn't work though, I lost 2 games straight where I had the upper hand but I just kept losing it more and more as the game went on. With a 0-5 streak I was feeling rather shitty, but managed to pull myself toghether and I went 3-1, 2-0 vs this guy named "amnesty". After 2-0:ing amnesty I agreed to play all 5 games that you are able to play vs an opponent on ICCup, and guess what? I lost 3 in a row against amnesty after taking him down easily the 2 first games. Last game was just a horrible 28 minute game where I thought I did everything right, but eventually it turned out that he had the 2 corners on python the entire game, which screwed me over.
At that point I was furious, I had gone like 5-11, but I kept on playing. Last game I played was a TvP on python where I felt that I was raping my opponent the entire game, taking down expos etc.. but something wasn't right I could feel it, my macro just wasn't the same, and before I know it, 4 carriers are knocking on my door... I didn't even have an armory up... GG!
So yeah, just needed to vent some, sorry if I got into details about the games, but hey its my blog ;D What i've been doing now is that I grabbed something to eat, and Ima pause for like 20 more minutes then its back to laddering. I hope it'll go better then.
Current record is 63-45 C :/ (yesterday: 59-33)

i obviously haven't played at the same level of competition as you, but i shall offer some general advice:
sometimes taking a short break can do wonders. perhaps you could've taken some time off to reflect on your mistakes, relax, etc? i'm pretty sure you pushing yourself too hard affected you mentally, and led to this minor setback.
again, i wish you all the best because you're a humble, skilled player and we appreciate the fpvods. chillax, and it'll be easier to get your head in the game.

Same thing happens to me when I lose 3 or 4 in a row, it's like I will take the wrong decision the entire day. The worst thing is that it's always these kind of day where I play a lot of games because I'm like no way i'm gonna lose another shitty one like that, but yes the domino effect is already started

I wish I had your energy. Doesn't matter if I win or lose, after 5 ladder (the latest) I get so terribly bored annoyed that I stop.
I don't think I've played 10 or more ladder games at once more than 2 or 3 times in my entire life.

Ya well I did quite okay after my meal, went on 4-0 streak, then 0-1, 1-0- 0-2. After the 0-2 I kinda stopped to reflect some like you said dementus, but i'll probably do a couple of more games before I sleep ;o

Something really difficult to do but very important: don't let the results of a few random games influence you too much. If you are annoyed about something then go 0-2 vs two random guys, there isn't necessarily a connection. It's basically statistics with a very small sample size. It also works the other way. If you go 2-0 in two random games, don't let it make you cocky or whatever. I seem to do both of these things from time to time.
However, if you play 300 games and go down 2 ranks in the process, statistics say you can probably use this as an indicator.

na but seriously merz, dont stop after a few losses, just keep playing and playing if you have the energy. massgaming will result in routine and experience which will make your ladderplay much much easier. Once you get that confidence and ability to read your opponent it shouldnt be that hard until you get to the higher levels of gaming...
Dunno how good the gamers are at your rank on iccup but just keep it up :o

There's something terribly wrong with your TvP if you don't have an armory up by the moment you've razed several toss expos and toss is going carriers. Stuff like not doing scan well enough can be forgiven, but this is a serious BO mistake.

well im a newbie and it has been know to happen that i forget armory , you get busy fighting all around the map, and you you see that all game the toss just goes zeal goon macro fights, no arbs, no shuttles, no grades, and you win most of the fights so you dont grade yourself, and all of a sudden ,carriers, shit happend to me today too on iccup
