I was on the Aztec diet for 3 years. Some people say on that diet you'll die. I didn't die but I did lose some weight. At the end of it I could take my medicine regularly. Maybe your brain just needs to develop more. Many medications treat brain disorders at a specific level. When I was first diagnosed I couldn't really function on the meds I was given. But at the end of the day the meds were a lifesaver and I'm glad that 10 years later I can take them.

If you really feel like you're a threat to yourself you should get a psychologist who you like and can talk to. Whenever you feel really down you should open up to them and tell them what's going on so they can get to the root of the problem. Some psychologists are more proactive than others.
