Hello ,
I have been staying with this site for more than 10 years and as soon as I was able to I got my TL + to show my respect and appreciation for the people that make this site possible.
I have never felt I need to go anywhere else for my Starcraft fix , Brood War or SC 2.
Liquipedia is an amazing achievement and you should be extremely proud of how well and smooth that site works. And the speed with which the tournament info is updated has put to shame even the original tournament producers a lot of times.
I have the feeling the Blizzard and Afreeca have divided Brood war and SC2 between them a long time ago and in the mean time Blizzard has lost its interest in SC2 because it's far from the cash machine they were expecting it to become.
Despite making the titles that I can say I love, when I think of Blizzard I mostly want to throw up. Although what I despise about them might be some shared characteristics among greedy capitalist corporations .
TL still has a "proffesional" SC2 rooster that I have no idea what they do. they don't seem to be at the top of the foreign scene for a while now. If they're not destroying Koreans I am not watching them so maybe they are better than I think.
Except for Snute. As far as I am concerned Snute can stream whenever he plays SC2 and I would love to continue to support him.
I would pay more if TL would add an official TL caster duo on its payroll .
Someone professional and by that I mean someone who understands they have to deliver a predictable result in exchange for the money they receive. Not entitled children who believe they should get money because they exist. Rapid would be my suggestion .
I would also pay to know there is a one year retirement plan for all official TL players. One year where they can get their salaries after they announced their official retirement. One year for them to adapt to a lifestyle where they have to earn their living in a different manner than just playing computer games.
I would also pay to have the Liquibets improved if that's possible. Right now I am "betting " only because if the numbers are not 0/0 it bothers me but I don't really care what I select.
I would like to see some relevant information: current MMR, matches between them, WCS ranking, things like that.
I would pay to have the option to filter the comments that I am reading whether they are on my posts or other's. I would love to have the following options :
1. Hide/Unhide non TL+ comments. I am not saying delete the non TL+. I am saying my time is valuable to me and if you don't have the possibility or the desire to support TL and at least get TL + I really don't give a fuck about your opinion and I would like to be able to filter it because life is too short.
2. Would it be possible to arrange comments based on the number of posts someone has ?
I mean if someone has 65 000 or more posts I would like their comments to be at the bottom of my reading list. I want to know what people think who don't have the entire week available to stay online . People who can spend so much time online live in a different reality than the ones that have to make a living and come here to reduce stress and enjoy some quality Starcraft .
I have some more ideas but let's see how these ones go .
Keep up the good work ,

Agree, users without TL+ barely qualify as human beings

Counter point: Let me pay 20 bucks to ban OP

Hmmmmm....
Is this satire?

In 2020, we are announcing TL++.
Some Features Include: *Using your banking info to buy the Liquipedia Team daily lunches *Using your photo ID for fake passports so we can have Koreans nearing military service still travel to tournaments *Solo post mode: Once TL++ is active you will only see your posts on all forums *Retirement charity fund: TL will open up a new charity and use these funds to setup PC cafes retirement homes. The PCs will only be able to run Starcraft1/2 and the discord service.

Would you read someone's comment if they had 65,000 posts as well as TL+?

TL+ should allow 100 people with TL+ to pick someone they want to ban and put them into a battle royale and winner gets to stay unbanned.

This makes me wonder is the sc2 side of the forum a real shit show? I have it removed from my sidebar so I don't see the posts there unless they wind up on front page.

@Liquid'Drone I appreciate the tone of your reply.
Being here for 10 years plus I am perfectly aware that my ideas are not necessarily in tone with the community here nor with the design of the site.
I submit to you that is irrelevant how the TL+ was designed to be .
What it actually is : a yearly subscription for a free of ads experience here. On top of that it adds some obligations, weather it was designed like that or not .
For example I feel entitled to post anything I want here and I expect to never ever be censored.
I also feel entitled to voice my opinion and make suggestions about what I want to see more of and what I want to see less of . If the ideas spread or not will depend entirely if there are enough kindred spirits here with mine. I have one voice and it only represents me.
I understand that this site was the product of love for starcraft at the beginning but I am under the impression that it switched to a combination of love for starcraft + we have to make money to stay relevant business model .
By now I expect TL has precise statistics with who is accessing this site, how many times, how much they're buying from the TL store , where are they accessing the site from , who they follow as players .
When I started playing Starcraft in 2000 all my friends were playing with me. Now because I don't have children I am the only one who still has time for it, and I care about it enough to support it with money I make from having a job not related to esports.
About two years ago I had a 50 $/month budget to support the SC streamers I liked. Thanks to the interactions I've had here with some of the people now that has gone to 0 . I've even tried to fund tournaments but again the interaction with the people here has taught me to stop doing that.
I believe actions shape the reality we live in. And I'm trying to shape my starcraft experience here . I don't have to succeed, I just have to learn from my failures and direct my efforts better so that I can get the satisfaction that I am looking for.
The TL + suggestion was my way of eliminating the opinions that are irrelevant to me. To get the TL + you must be someone who spends money for the content here. If you're not I don't want to spend time reading your opinion. I don't care and no one should care if I care or not.
Stupid people think money is the resource they trade to get what you want but actually time is the resource you trade to get what you want : time it took to make the money that you "own" so that you can spend them on things that you want.
|
@ Ej_ I would pay 50 on top of your 20 if you can get me banned and I would be happy to .
|
@Paljas . Funny and maybe even true but that was not the point.
The point is that I want to know that the people that I allow to engage me in conversation share at least some basic values with me .
TL + means that the content here is worth your money and quite likely you dislike adds . We don't have to agree beyond that but that's enough for me to feel I am not wasting my time reading your opinion.
I think it's quite clear by now, the internet is sorting people in groups based on common values.

Not really sure what the fuck you’re talking about but enjoyed reading.
You want to filter out the high posters who, myself excluded tend to post reasonably sensibly?
|
@Wombat_NI Yes I want the option to filter out high posters but it's not due to the quality of the posts. I'm trying to find kindred souls in this community and people who have a full time job plus a family and maybe some friends , don't have time to post too much. I have been here at least 4-5 times a day for ten years and I have 142 posts. So far.

u either support or just don't...
its not like some entitlement badge... and other people have been around here for longer than 10 years, myself included lol
but guess my opinions don't matter because of my high post count EKS DEE
fyi: there is a private TL+ forum, you can go there to find your "kindred spirits"

I don’t use my phone socially on work hours, message friends when I’m off the clock and available, browse plenty of TL on my breaks though. Don’t play as much games as I used to, likewise guitar and other hobbies, likewise socialising.
I don’t think your proposed filter would help find similarly situated people, quite the opposite really.

It's as if only non TL+ users shitpost.
I translated the I am saying my time is valuable to me and if you don't have the possibility or the desire to support TL and at least get TL + I really don't give a fuck about your opinion and I would like to be able to filter it because life is too short.
as + Show Spoiler +I am a morally superior forum user and that those with better monetary means have much more valuable opinions.
Not to say you shouldn't want to be above others, but many contribute on a basis of time through the Liquipedia articles, tournament organization, casting, and general topic creations throughout many of the different games and forums. As well as strategy guides and respective knowledge of their games. It feels a bit short sighted to say only the people who buy into TL+ are users with great opinions, although I am guilty of gifting it to people who do great within our community instead of just giving it to myself.

I’m sorry you never read my posts

I did not know TL had an SC2 rooster. I am also curious what that rooster is currently up to.
