I've done nearly nothing productive in the last week, and it's also been a week filled with more StarCraft than I've ever squeezed into a single week before. The two are definitely related. I've also been more pissed off this week than in any week in my entire life. This has been one of the 'easiest' weeks of my life and also one of the most annoying, frustrating, irritating, and upsetting weeks for many reasons, some of which will not be mentioned. These two are also definitely related.
I find StarCraft incredibly addicting, and derive less and less enjoyment from it while being more and more unhappy as a result of playing it. I have not strictly been playing one kind of game or trying to do one very specific thing. The only solution I can think of is to uninstall the game, and either destroy it or put it away somewhere where I'm not tempted to reinstall it. More and more this is becoming a drug, not just in its addictive qualities, but also in the way it is wrecking my life/personal life/mental state.
At this point it is going to take some serious convincing for me to not take the action outlined above in an attempt to thwart all of the problems being created by my involvement in StarCraft. My current feelings are not the result of specific people being rude to me, or anything like that. The people of the TL.net community, and the other channels I frequent, are still generally fun to be with. Hopefully if I just take a breather I can clear my thoughts and think rationally about what course of action to take.

I have noticed an extremely strong correlation in the negative direction between amount of starcraft played and gpa.
just make sure you get your shit done before you play sc, and only play sc when you actually find it enjoyable (ie with friends, not with bm pubs that you know will end up pissing you off). find another hobby instead of playing sc if you have nothing to do. like get into the habit of reading when you have lots of downtime.
my 2 cents

If you think Starcraft is wrecking your life, the rational choice is to not play. You might want to ration your BW time to about max 2 hours of bw/tl.net/vods/live games per day. That should leave you plenty of time for real life, and it might make you do the things you like on BW instead of wasting your time.
