I had the original collectors edition?

Original StarCraft! I was so excited for StarCraft that I absolutely snatched it up on launch - no easy feat when you are paying with saved up allowance money. Anyway, I remembered that I still had the box laying around and that when I picked it up you had the choice of Terran, Zerg, or Protoss. I, not knowing what was going to become the default box, picked Protoss (what I still play today) because I thought they were the most interesting.

I came across this cleaning up for a potential move and noticed it does say Collector's Edition box. I imagine that was just because you could select the race and they hadn't yet decided that Protoss would be the default.

Anyway, I was wondering if they did anything like this for Brood War. I picked it up pretty close to launch, but not the night of or anything - you have to save up that allowance after all.If they did have anything like this I would love to try and pick it up if someone would be willing to part with it. I have the CEs of all of SC2, so it would would be need to complete the set with Brood War.

Follow-up: After a good bit of Googlefu, some asking around on IRC, and through investigation of all of my B.net friends list I must conclude that no CE was done for Brood War or if it was no one talks about it. Oh well, it was a fun journey and I got to hear more than 1 nostalgic tale of someone picking up SC1 and/or Brood War.

No I just remember the Warchest. I remember getting my dad to buy it JUST so I could get Brood War, it was impossible to get it otherwise. Came with a t-shirt, key ring and poster, original SC1 and BW.

My boxes went years ago, but I still have my original CDs.

CE would be playing LT vs X'Ds)Grrrr..., [STiM]Jammers, [Z-Zone] or liberally GG99.

I'm pretty sure there's not a box.

It's just the original release?
Standard box that they sold millions of.But i guess these days it'd be classed as collectors since it came with the sketch pad and a manual.If physical pc games were still a thing i mean.

My box had a 3D textured face, did yours too?

Too bad you picked the protoss one since terran and zerg variants are much rarer now.

Was a Battle Chest kid, lost that box but still have my Prima guides and CD cases.

Not collector level condition, but needless to say I was pretty pumped when I spotted this at my Goodwill this summer. Yes it was $10
