Live SC2 in Korea in July?

After so many years of waiting, I have finally succeeded in going to a conference in Korea as ICRC 2017, the major meeting of our field will be held between July 12 and 20 in Busan. Well, I knew that for years, but had no idea that I'd be still in the field in 2017!

Are there any clues as to what SC2 could be played during July? I will probably add a week of vacation to either side of the meeting and I'd like to maximize the chance of being able to go see some live SC2 during that time. So far, I haven't found any specific dates for GSL for example, but I will need to eventually buy air tickets well in advance.

Any ideas will be appreciated!

The 3rd season of GSL is supposed to start around 5th July (that's what they said in their original announcement at any rate) so you should be able to catch some GSL action when you're there. Not sure about anything else offline SC2 event wise.

Suffice to say, I'm jealous.

Cool, that sounds well timed

This would probably made me more inclined to stay rather after than before, because "around 5th July" might mean plus/minus some days, so aiming for 5-12 July could be less safe than for 20-27 July. I won't be really able to catch games during the meeting itself, as it is not exactly next door to Seoul.

I don't know about live games, but Teoita on TL is also an astrophysicist so he might attend ICRC too.

Yeah, he even works in the relevant field for this conference, so I think he should consider going. It's in the bloody Korea!
