Satelite?
It's not like no one wants to meet it, they do repairs on it I think? But generally yeah, you'd want to avoid crashing into it because it goes at a crazy speed.
Gravity = wanting to meet Earth. Obviously if it met Earth, it would crash, ergo, it would not float again.

Oil platform?
No one wants to crash into it, but I guess some do want to meet it because people go to it.
Wants to meet the oil / oil drilling site. Once it reaches it, it won't float, but stand on the pillars that are going down to the bottom of the sea.

Nope, A satelite does not really want to meet someone, does it?
Can oil platforms get to a drill site and then never float again? I dont know.

I mean, it could be a Missile, but if I extrapolate what you said for the Satellite to it, it's not the answer.

You are almost there: a missle does not really float, but it wants to meet someone. A satelite does not want to meet someone, but it doesnt float.

a torpedo

I think that's a good point; I don't think torpedoes float. The floating through water/ space was a good clue for things like satellites, but torpedoes get launched or otherwise sink afaik, just like a rocket.
