The latter of course being my fourth piano album (the first three were conceived in a similar vein), Love Stories Aged Yellow. And if all goes according to plan, I'll have the album out by Friday, December 4th.
So a project this ambitious needs some ambitious cover art. Luckily, Coagulation delivers:
Going purely on the art he's made for Mana Spirits and the other images Chill's posted in his blogs, and of course the Coag-approved townie seals, I was really taken in by his style, and decided I wanted it too.
The results speak for themselves in that video. Definitely will commission again. That being said, I finally broke in all the recording equipment and found some new musicians for my opera, so my 5th/6th neoclassicals and their respective covers might have to wait.
The song is called "A Dream Corrupted, A World Destroyed". It's 10 minutes long and is the second-longest song on this album (the first is 25). Really had fun with this one. There's five different themes all taking turns center stage, and some very loose influences from Irish and Georgian folk songs.
There's a few clipping issues around 5 minutes into the video. It has to do with me playing too many notes, too fast, too loudly. The solution to this is to dangle a microphone above my keyboard and hope it picks up all the sound, but that'll also drop I'm still working on re-recording those parts because right now the choices I have are post this with the clipping or have the other 9 and a half minutes of this song be inaudible... or spend 2 weeks working on the issue but then basically having the entire album done at that point.
But otherwise, things are looking great. The only major thing ahead of me now is recording that 25-minute song, but I've spent three years polishing that one so two more weeks is nothing. Enjoy!
