i dont know how you guys call this thing but you now know what im talking about. well, i start looking really carefully in to this device, open it up and marvelling how this "simple" office device is really a pretty clever invention, a thing i couldnt even dream to invent or make. after that i realize that the guy who invented this must have won a shit ton of money, come on guys you can find this shit in every office around the world... after a min dreaming about all the money that guy made i saw a little thing that i didnt knew why was there.

so that part is mobile, i couldnt understand why this especific part needed to be mobile, it could go up a little bit and return to its place... but why... then i realized i could turn it around, complete a 360 degrees turn but still, why would i want to change its position... foloowing my curiosity i set it into this new position and behold!!!! that shit had a purpose i never imagined and that still dont understand

Outwards staples are easier to remove, which is something you may want to do eventually.

Yeah I figured that out a while back... never really figured out the benefit. I think it's one of those applications that will suddenly occur to you when you actually have something to benefit from it. I don't know why you wouldn't want the ends of the staple to just meet towards each other.

As SKC said, it's to make the removal of staples easier, notably in situations where you need to staple something, and then add paper on your already stapled pack of paper later. Sure you can just staple again, but when you add papers regularly and often it's better to remove the already placed staples to avoid having a big blob of staples accumulating overtime.

Has anyone ever needed a staple remover? Those things that remove staples. I had one in a staple kit and it's in office cabinets but it seemed like it mostly took up space. Because I could easily remove staples with my fingers with a lower chance of damaging the paper faster than it would take to find a staple remover. Always felt those things were worthless.

If you're taking apart a large number of packets or the staples are in the wall/corkboard, then a staple remover is pretty indispensable.

I use staple removers pretty often at work. I often staple something, take another quick look, realize I want to change one character on one page, open it up with the staple remover, edit and print the one changed page, then re-staple!

I don't think so, man. The amount of intolerance I've seen on this site is ridiculous, so I'm ready to believe just about anything. Also, if the guy was trolling, then he fails 100%, because it's not a funny troll. I have half a mind to report him, but my report stats are absolutely terrible and I'm sure it crosses the line and I'd like to not lose my report button in case I really need it one day.
