So last weekend I had some family over, my brother had some of his friends over and they all got drunk (I wanted to drive home and not crash at parents home so stayed sober have a dog to take care of  ).
One of my brothers friends who always seemed like a nice guy and normal (which is weird most of my brothers friends are a little weird) who we will call Conner.
All goes normal nothing unusual until the very end of the night. Turns out my bro's friend made a "joke" to my step brother (who we will call alex) that creeped him out and ended up causing drama between step mom and my brothers friend/brother himself about calling 911 that I will explain at the end.
The joke from Conner was (in a serious voice) "So I want to tell you something. I have a plan in a couple years to collect fetuses and kill my ex girlfriend." To which Alex fake laughed so as not to make it awkward. Conner responds to that with "You think I am joking?" serious face and then Alex walked away.
Now Alex decides to talk to his mom about it which is never a good idea because she can be a bit of a drama queen in general and being drunk is likely going to cause more. Well it did as we were all about to leave she comes storming up, points at Conner and yells at him to go upstairs. He does and then she starts screaming about needing someone to call 911.
Ok nobody else knows what the hell's going on and eventually it comes out what Conner said. My dad said nobody is calling 911 and yelling went on for god knows how long as this enfolds. Ends up everyone went home, cops weren't called (they really couldn't do anything imo even if this was serious).
So I ask my brother about what Conner said and he tells me "Oh he jokes like that all the time, they just over reacted. He has never had a girlfriend anyway so he has no ex to kill."
To top it off my brother tells him he shouldn't say that to strangers the next day when he comes over and Conner responds with "Why? I don't see anything weird with it at all it's normal."
So am I the only one who finds that weird? That feels like joking to friends might be ok with it I guess, but to do it to strangers you don't know (this was the first time Conner had met everyone except me and my bro) seems like a dumb thing to say. What do you guys think?

how old is he? sounds like a regular b/tard. just make sure he knows it was retarded (as demonstrated by the consequences) and let him do his own thing. lots of young people are fucking idiots
actually its pretty mean to pick on alex like that, you might want to tell him off yourself since trolling someone like that (who is presumeably pretty young and vulnerable) is pretty nasty tbh
if i went up to your little sister and told her i'm going to rape and kill a child , just to troll her, you would get pretty fucking mad. that sounds like how your mom felt about alex getting trolled

That's a pathetically terrible attempt at a joke. I hate people who say shit like that, but it's hilarious that anyone would take it seriously and consider calling the cops... or tell their parents about it in the first place. lol

21 I believe. I don't think he would actually do it, just seems to me to be a dumb thing to say to someone you don't know even as a joke and then never say you are joking.
Alex can be paranoid though as well (gets it from his mom I imagine) and yeah he's 19 a young punk  .

That's a strange kind of joke. Not the funny one, that's for sure, and not the one you want to tell strangers unless you want to be considered as an awful creepy guy. I mean, if a guy I just met did this, I'd probably be scared of him and consider that he's not totally alright

when you replace names in your stories at least give them progamer names. i'll imagine your mom's name in the story is MKP (drama queen), your brother is ByuN and the weirdo is Sniper

Well, it is weird, but at the same time I do know people who would tell such jokes. If he makes jokes like that all the time, i would would have prepared the strangers for his behaviour. If he doesn't, it's just weird to everyone there, and especially in non-sober conditions, there is a high risk things get out of hand. Either way, it doesnt sound very mature.
Also, most people I know making such jokes, know it's weird and tell people because of that. That's (i think) the purpose of the joke, to put people off. Seeing such things as perfectly normal makes it borderline creepy :/
