EPTBut it looks like I'm not going to be approaching it anytime soon. StarCraft used to be a pretty big priority. I'd get up at 4:45 in the morning to plug a few games before school started. Right now, the peak of my involvement is checking WCS results once a week, if even that.
And that's where it's going to stay for the foreseeable future. I really like where I am in my life right now. I'm making new friends every week, I'm learning to make and hold eye contact, I'm finding a bunch of new books, movies and music albums that captivate my interest, I'm able to run three times more distance than I've ever been able to run, and I've working on three albums simultaneously. And unfortunately, I don't have anywhere I can put SC2 into that. I'm not even good anymore; I haven't been platinum since last year and despite my best efforts, I'm not going to get back up there.
SC2 isn't dying. I've vehemently defended that position at every possible opportunity, and I'll keep defending it when I think to remember the game. It's stable at worst, and the best it's ever been at best. I'll definitely watch Blizzcon this November to root for the white man, assuming Snute holds (and I have no reason to assume he won't at this point), but after that, that'll be it.
But most of all, I want to thank you, Team Liquid. For more than five years, you've given me motivation and assistance with my songwriting. Encouraged my growth and slowed my decline. Opened my eyes to the world and to the wonderful dynamic of LR threads. Made the blogs section my first bookmark, and my subbed threads my second. Put up with my endless lurking and excuses, in the case of TL Mafia.
StarCraft stole 14 years of my life from me, but I'm not mad. I've gained a lot more than I lost. It's probably saved my life at some point or other. But now it's time for me to find a new road.
I'd make this more eloquent or funny or narcissistic like my usual posts, but I don't have it left in me.

I still don't see the reason to say goodbye all together though. There's been plenty of people that have 'left' TL but still check back every now and then. Not like you have to center your life around TL even if it keeps you busy for a while. Why not just do that instead of leaving? Having said that, farewell
