Question regarding MP3 ID3 info

I recently downloaded this: "Killer Mike and El-P's Run the Jewels 2013" free dl. The problem though which I don't understand is that I am able to alter the ID3 info etc but I can't load it into my ipod/itunes (no problem with anything else). Can someone else confirm this? Or how do you deal with it? I assume it's some sort of encryption or something?

Itunes error msg "Some of the files XXXX, were not copied to this ipod because they cannot be played on this ipod." and lists all 10 tracks. which is bs

Okay so I do not really have the time to help you right now but I would need more information if I would be someone who wanted to help you ...

do you use windows/mac/linux (well since you said itunes I assume you are not using linux/wine for it)
when you say " I can't load it into my ipod/itunes " do you mean the metadata which you are talking about or the (assuming) mp3 file ?

windows xp sp3, think im on an older version of itunes (obvious route is try and update itunes but i'd rather avoid that). Is there some other program that you can use to put mp3s on your ipod besides itunes? I really hate this shit.

It's the mp3 files.

if you have an older ipod, try using foobar with the ipod manager component?

i'm downloading the album right now. let's see what's up

Edit: did you extract the mp3 files from the zip? i had zero problems. they're just normal mp3s

fyi tufas the ID3 tag is the container for metadata in mp3 files.

second using foobar with ipod component

not sure why you have this problem tbh

also since you use windows i'd highly recommend using foobar, it looks less polished than itunes but its 100x more useful for keeping a music library

Ah ! I thought ID3 was name for the place of metadata in .. uh ... every file ...

You were able to rename the ID3s and the file names and load them into itunes/ipod? Is there some hidden rules or character limits on ID3 tags that I'm perhaps unaware of or something?
