My WCS Report

Hello my name is Danny Johnson and I like video games. StarCraft is my favorite but I don't like the one person game because the big guy kisses the bug lady and thats gross.

When people play a lot of video games they can be really good at them and if they play other people who are good it is called esports. I like to watch esports but my mom says I spend too much time at the computer so sometimes I collect toads outside even though my sister thinks they are dirty and have germs.



Here are some people who run WCS. WCS is a place that you go to when you want to play with people who are famous for video games. WCS is important because some people like video games so much that they make playing them their job. My teacher Mrs Berkshire says it is important to do a job you like but a lot of people who will play WCS sound mad on the internet a lot.



WCS has three different parts, one in Korea one in Europe and one in America. Even though Korea is the smallest they are the best at games and sometimes people in America say it isn't fair. I heard you can play in America even if you are Korean. That sounds like lying to me but my teacher says sometimes it is okay for grownups to lie a little bit like the time we gave my dog medicine and told him it was a treat.



WCS will choose players the same way GSL does. This is good because sometimes contests will choose players in new ways and then no one can know who is winning. It is also bad because you need a tall picture to see how it works.

Here are some people who will run games.




This is MLG. They are people that talk a lot and then sometimes do stuff in America. Their owner has a funny name but my mom said not to make fun of people with different names because maybe their parents were on drugs.



This is ESL. They play games in Europe that have a lot of people going to them. Their leader is funny and gives piggyback rides on stage. I think he is nice if I met him.



This is GomTV. They run games but they are past my bedtime and I haven't seen any. I think people who play there are good because people from America like me can't win there even though George Washington said everyone should be equal.



This is OnGameNet. They are like GomTV but they only ran some games and then stopped having people play StarCraft because they play another game. I think they want to play more StarCraft because they used to have a lot of it before I was born.



This is KeSPA. They are people that used to be mean and had a fight with StarCraft but they are friends now. They don't run any contests but they make other people pay them to let people play StarCraft.



These are people in NASL. They are sad because they don't get to be in WCS and now that their friend IPL is gone they are lonely in California. My friend Frank says that IPL is not gone but they didn't have their last meeting and now no one talks about it so I think he is telling a joke.

When I grow up I want to play video games and I hope I am good at them when I am old like White-Ra. I think that WCS will be good but parts of it will be bad because it has a lot of new stuff.
