Another one of my cats has passed on. Dear Frasier, who had aggressive squamous cell carcinoma. That is, cancer in his nose. No matter what the treatment or how many times the tumors were removed, they would grow back. He lived for just over a year after we found him and was a loving, amiable cat. He would constantly lick your hand if you held it out to him and never stopped purring. He had a white marking in the shape of a "T" on his back, I remember. Most of the time he just looked like he had a cold - he sneezed a lot and snored something awful! - with the occasional bloody nose, but two weeks ago when he had a seizure, we knew the tumors had finally spread to his brain. We all knew that this cancer was going to kill him, we knew that from day one, but you're never really and truly prepared to lose someone, huh...but, at least this time, we were able to say goodbye.
~*Frasier*~ ~*Febuary 2006 (approx) - October 3rd, 2012*~ Keep on purring, my friend...
Currently listening to: Van Halen - "Dreams"
P.S. No, we do not keep cats in cages, they run freely within the rooms. The cages are only for sick cats; at the time that picture was taken, we still thought Frasier only had a cold and didn't want it to spread.

It's so sad to see them go... But at least you still have the good memories of him to live with.

I'm sure you gave Frasier as good a life as possible, and I'm also sure he appreciated it RIP Frasier

I'm sorry for your loss. It's hard to say goodbye, but I'm glad you got the chance to do it properly

That sucks man, but at least kelsey grammar is still alive...

I feel for you. We recently had to put down both my dog and cat within a few months of each other because of their age and poor health. So sad seeing your lifelong friends go.

Meow. =(
Sorry for your loss, animals tend to be the better humans a lot of the time. <3

It's always so sad to lose a pet. I lost my dog that I've had since I was 2 years old last year (I'm 18 now). Then we lost our cat a few months after. I think my dog had liver failure. Makes me sad to think about them now.
Edit: just posting this and bringing back all those memories of my pets has gotten me teary eyed and I got that lump in my throat now. I miss them a lot. I still have my other cat though. I used to refer to them as the big three because they were my main pets. I've had other pets that we had to let go for various reasons but I never grew too attached to them. I always wonder if my still alive cat remembers my other pets

Losing a pet is always horrible no matter how long you have had them. Lost a couple cats 2 years ago, only a little over 2 months between them. It was a horrible time but you realize that they have to go eventually. Especially in the case of a cancer that keeps returning, one of my cats had to endure a horrible surgery and aftermath only for it to come back again a few months later. Better to let them go peacefully
My condolences OP.
