Yeah I guess that sucks. Never experienced a breakup but TL girl blogs say they are bad. If you find another or get back together you'd probably be happy again.
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

This might sound unconventional but I was thinking you might want to just ride the depression into wherever it leads you. Take some inspiration from Charles Bukowski, write about the depression, but also write more to find out why you're depressed and perhaps you'll find a solution.
