Wow is all I can say it's almost surreal how fast this has been spreading. It jumped over the foothills today and within a few minutes was already almost down into the Springs. Tons of evacuations going on in the Springs and also the USAFA is being evacuated.
Biggest issue is the conditions which are just awful, super dry for the last 4+ months and in the last week it's been around 100 every day, super low humidity, and very, very windy with gusts today of over 50mph.
It's just unreal how fast this has spread and how easily fires and jump miles at a time in these sorts of conditions. Went on break today at work and things where (relatively) okay with the fire still being largely up in Waldo Canyon, but within an hour it had jumped several miles and was now on the east (cityward) side of the front range. A few hours later it had crept well into the city and is now encroaching on I25.
I don't think I'll be sleeping too well tonight as this is the scene about 10 miles south of where my house is:

Does anybody know if house insurances cover such instances? Or is it considered "an act of God" and hence the insurance companies are relieved of any culpability for refunds? It its the latter, that truely sucks...
