Hey so I was wondering if any lovely TL member here is an incoming freshman going to UM and looking for a roomate(s)?
First of all the information I know according to others about the dorms...
Private/shared bathrooms aren't nice especially because you have to clean those yourself.
(These are found in the ones with multiple rooms with 1 or more people in it:
Baits and NW3)
The public hallway bathrooms are cleaned every morning.
(These are for double/triple/quad one-roomers
Bursley)
NW3 is a very isolated place. Baits is small and shitty. NW3 too but to a lesser extent.
Neither Baits nor NW3 have air conditioning (all dorms that haven't been renovated in the last few years don't have air conditioning right?)
Bursley, however, has slightly bigger rooms and will be a freshman dorm in the 2012-2013 year.
NW, Baits, and Bursley are all on North Campus but Bursley is closest to Central Campus.
Mark Markeley is out of the question because I hear it's really noisy there and the rooms are small and old (no air conditioning).
About Me:
Well, I value respect. I'm not an aggressive person and not weak to peer pressure neither. I don't "go with the crowd" and I don't do anything stupid. I believe above all, if you can respect each other, and talk things out, roommates will have a decent time. I'm patient and try to be as considerate as possible.
I don't use any substances.
I play Starcraft, obviously. I stream, and, unless it bothers you, I won't talk on stream unless you're gone.
I'm fine with sharing my things as long as they are respected and no unreasonable damage is caused to them.
I'm an otaku  . I love anime so hopefully you won't be freaked out if you see me watching it.
I don't play loud music if it bothers you (like if you don't like it or if you don't want it out loud xD).
I'm not gonna have sex in the room (lol my bro's roommate is like that).
I'll try my best to not disrupt you if I have to come home late or something.
I'm a musician as well so I'll have a flute and keyboard. Again, not gonna practice if it's bothersome. With the keyboard I'll have earphones. Depending on (once I get there) i feel it's convenient enough to walk down to the music school (Moore Building), I may or may not do most of my practicing (1-2 hours a day or more) there, so you might have some time by yourself at the dorms.
I tend to procrastinate a lot but when something needs to be done, I want it done, or as closely as possible (including studying lol). With me trying to be a musician I gotta be ambitious and accomplish as much as possible.
I can be both a quiet or loud guy. Depends on the situation and the people I'm hanging out with.
I'd prefer co-ed (im thinking both genders on same hall/floor... but gender splitting by hall/floor is fine too)
Conclusion
I want either a double, triple, or quad at Bursley  .

Best of luck with your search. Nice to see another musician (and otaku  ); flutes don't have mute-like devices do they? One of my saving graces from playing my trumpet was the ability not to piss other people off with my playing.

But really good luck, I hope you find yourself a good roommate and stuff.
Also, why no shameless plugs for your stream, I'd totally tune in at least once to check you out (not sexually [oh god, does saying not sexually make it sexual?]).

Edit: Also, Markley is a nice place to live. I was lucky and was an Honors kid, so I got to live in South Quad for two years and never had to worry about taking the bus. I've had lots of friends live in Markley and say that they love it.
Aw yeah, excited for CSL this year even though we're losing Tianyi - hopefully I can spend some more time playing and will get some playtime now that I've hit masters finally. With med school applications in, I should have more free time. Hell to the yeah.
