For those familiar with my blog, you may have read this:Self-Punishment; Should I Stop Playing?
That was written in December. You may also know that my primary goal in SC2 multiplayer was to reach the platinum league. Everything else is gravy. Platinum (as said by Day in one of his dailies) is basically the plateau where you're, "actually pretty competent in playing this game."
Being "pretty competent" in SC is like being gosu at chess, so I'm happy. 257 league wins is also a comparatively small mass of games. I've seen people with 1k wins still stuck in silver league, after all. Like Gheed said in his latest blog, it's about having a fucking clue what to do.
What surprised me most is that I placed into Plat after beating four Toss in a row. Those of you familiar with me know that I hate Toss more than Stalin.
Just so you know it's not a fluke, I also placed into Plat on my smurf account (as Random...which is weird, but I'll take it).
So technically it's 257 + 51 = 308 games.
ANYWAY, mission accomplished! Don't flame me please. When it comes to video games I set my own goals. Plat promotion came as a surprise since I basically came in playing cold after a 5 month break.
