I've been playing for 14 years and have not gotten one (I did make a par by holing my second shot after my first went in the lake haha). Hope you get warmer weather!

I remember I almost shit a brick when I made my first birdie via a chip in, but I can't see myself making a hole and one and not like... screaming and running around the course waving my polo shirt around. What was your reaction? Or since it was on a hill could you see that it went in from the teebox? It appeared like it had gone in but my vision was very poor due to the hill. The guy next to me was pretty sure it had gone in, so the whole time I was waiting to approach the green I was mentally preparing myself. When it was in there I was excited, but didn't completely lose my composure. If it had hit me all at once I probably woulda freaked out. Something interesting about the experience of getting a hole in one: when you walk across the green and approach the cup to get the ball, you get this feeling like the tee isn't actually as far away from the green as you used to think.

Great job on the hole in one, I've hit the flagstick multiple times in competition but never hole in one : / Holed out some pitches though.

My hole in one experiences (and all my golf experiences, for that matter) are limited to Tiger Wood's PGA Tour.

It was up a big hill, which makes it more like 140? It was cold, which makes it more like 145? And I hit it up rather high, which sucked away a few yards. It also landed behind the hole and then came back. It really wasn't a short shot for an 8 iron.

There are some good players out there (non-competitive players) who hits 140~150 yards with 7 iron, and still score amazingly well. Though that is not always the case
