I'd definitely say car, since it's impossible to get much of anywhere without one. Plus, you can probably get a job over the summer (that you would have to drive to more than likely) in order to get more money to pay for gas and save up for a computer. Though, you know your situation best so don't rely on our advice too much :3
I am also a Charlestonian haha and ya thats what i was planning on doing getting a job
but i also need it as i am on the crew team and that is a 30 min drive

i wouldn't get car for this reason a car takes money you have to put gas in it. monthly or yearly insurance on it, repairs if anything goes wrong. if you get a car you are going to need to get at least a part time job. witch i had at 14 lol. if you have a part-time job you can buy your own gaming pc. if you don't get the car you can get your gaming pc and not have to get a job for a while but your still going to be low on money. but if gaming really interests you more then driving around with friends and getting drunk (not at the same time don't drink and drive :p) then go for the pc. but also thinking about getting a part-time job isn't a bad idea.

Huh, that's pretty crazy lol. Definitely car then. Carpooling is a nightmare (though from what I've heard of the crew cult they're pretty accommodating), so getting a car, though not necessarily that one, would be the best idea. The computer can wait, though if the car can wait too, save the money instead.

If you spend your money on something, let it be a car.
A car can land you a job (=more money) and gives much, much more mobility - even freedom in rural areas.
A gamging computer is just a fancy thing.

Yeah, hold off on purchasing then unless you know you'll be able to support the additional costs that come along with owning a car. As other people have said, cars end up costing a lot more than just the price of the car itself.
I know most of the people on the AMHS team (go raptors!) and a couple from CofC - not too many

Computer, you are not just getting a car, you are getting a money sink.

Solution: Buy a $4000 car and a $500 computer. You can build a pretty decent computer for $500 (a hell of a lot better than the POS you are using right now) and $4k will still buy a very nice used car.
And it will show your parents that you know how to stretch a dollar which should make them happy too. If you search hard and wait for a good deal you should be able to get a car just as good for less money.
Edit: The guy in the craiglist ad for the Jetta is only asking $4250 so I bet you can get him down to $4k meaning you will get the car you want and the computer too. Just a warning, cars sell FAST on craigslist so I bet that one is already gone. Have you contacted him yet?
Edit2: And don't listen to all these people saying you shouldn't get a car at 16. If you can afford it (negotiate with your parents to help with gas and insurance?) that is. A car is worth so much social capital in high school (and college) that it will make you instantly more popular.
