I think it's time to raise the stakes.
Until you get to 10 points, you obviously don't shave.
However! For every tournament where you cannot fairly grant yourself points, you grow a Gandalf level beard until you earn another point or 2. Basically minimal grooming to dwell in the sham of defeat.
So we go Obi-Wan mode in between tournaments until getting 10 points, then you can shave off the facial manhood.
No point, hermit mode until points are earned.

don't shave it trim it. I rock the beard as well and my lady loves it... only thing is must keep trimmed and above all don't let the hair grow over your lip, not romantic, and not a pleasant kissing experience. Let's face it, ladies want a man, not a widdel boy. Beard is man, trimmed is appreciated! Need to throw up a poll under pictures 2 and 3 to be voted on for a bit of public opinion. Not that that should affect your choice, I just think it would be interesting to see the results.
