Yeah, I'm bored. sue me :p

A collection of wisdom and inanity.

---

A confident player is inclined to play safe. An insecure player is inclined to take risks.

---

Do not complain about luck. If your opponent got lucky, you probably took a chance. If you took a chance, you probably weren't confident enough to play safe. - Ah, but then why would you complain?

---

Superior macro usually trumps superior micro. Superior macro cannot reach its full potential without proper decision-making. Proper decision-making is dependant on constantly knowing what units your enemy is building and where he is moving them. The most important aspect of the game, therefore, is to always scout your opponent. If you don't know what your opponent is up to at all times, you will not emerge victorious.

---

The metaphorical crutch can help you overcome shortcomings in other areas, but wouldn't it be more sensible to not have shortcomings in the first place? Instead of relying on your strengths, work on improving your weaknesses. Using your crutch for too long will leave you even further behind once your crutch breaks.

---

You do not just play against a race, you play against a persona. A persona may have a specific style with specific weaknesses and strengths. Knowing your opponent's persona will allow you to abuse his weaknesses.

Conversely, do not play a style; play a race. If you play a specific style, your opponent can abuse your weaknesses. Vary your playstyles so as to not be predictable; make full use of what your race has to offer. Be wary of becoming a persona.

---

Opening with the 'safest' build order every single game is not very safe.

---

When you devise a strategy, think of what would counter it. Then think of something that will counter the counter. Only then make use of your strategy.

---

Do not get tunnel-visioned. When getting ahead in a game, take a brief moment to think about what your opponent would have to do to catch up. Then you know what you're up against, and you can solidify your lead with relative ease.

---

A player who is ahead should not get too greedy. A player who is behind can't afford to not be greedy.

---

Blindly copying a strategy from another player will do you no good. You have to follow the players footsteps all the way back first – if you don't know exactly why the player uses his strategy, how can you hope to use it properly?

---

Today's loss paves the path to tomorrow's victory.

I think this is wrong:

A player who is ahead should not get too greedy. A player who is behind can't afford to not be greedy.

Sometimes when you're behind, you have to double expo or take a gold in order to catch up.

People who play should learn how to manage stress. I agree with everything in the OP. The more you get frustrated, the more you'll frustrate yourself.
