Has anyone on TeamLiquid been involved with the National Guard or Peace Corps? Is there any advice you could give me? Stories you could tell, good or bad? I plan on using the free tuition to study either criminal justice (to eventually become a cop, then a detective), or acquire an English major, (to eventually become a DoDDs teacher). Or, even, foreign language for a potential CIA position.
For me, the appeal of these organizations isn't the free education (well, it is, obviously) but the fact that you are forced to become better than you are: stronger, faster, smarter; physically, emotionally, morally, and psychologically. Life hasn't exactly been a picnic thus far, and I think this would be a proactive way to deal with past stress while developing a solid base for the future.
Anyway...got any stories?
