Heya guys!

So I'm flying from Hong Kong to LA in a couple of hours and was interested in asking some question to some locals before I go so if you could help me out that would be absolutely awesome. (also if any of you are staying at the Anabella come say hi!)

1. Can I get a prepaid Sim for my iPhone with some sort of data (ie 3G)

2. If I wanted to go to disneyland while I am there, how much is it going to cost and how much time should I spend there?

3. How much money am I going to need for spending inside the blizzcon area (food, blizzard stuff etc)

4. Where is the best place for nerdies to shop in LA?

I think thats all my questions, but I might think up some more later on!

1. No... you can't switch your iPhone's sim. (Unless Hong Kong has different iPhones?) It's pretty easy to pick up a prepaid phone with minutes and texts, but data is harder to find. Look for a prepaid phone at a Walmart or Best Buy. Alternatively, unless you will need the phone for a lot of stuff, just find someone with a phone that doesn't mind letting you borrow it. (Use an international calling card if need be.)

2. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/tickets/ Expect to pay ridiculous amounts for things like water and food while there. Don't spend more than a day. Depending on the day of the week, the lines will differ. Go on a weekday if at all possible to avoid (somewhat) the hoards of children.

3 and 4 - Not sure since I have not been to blizzcon and I don't live in LA! :D

1. US's telecommunication is archaic and crap compared to HK. No such convenient thing around here
2. Disney is about 60~ USD to get in, and you should spent a full day at Disneyland and maybe half a day for California adventures if you want. DL is the better park, but California is newer. Don't get park hopper, you shouldn't need it, and if you want it, you can add it later at the ticket office
3. If you buy stuff, who knows, but food is about 10$ for lunch. I spent like 100 bucks on merch last year.
4. Nothing is really close, there's an outlet mall an hour away but you should spend that time at universal instead, HK has more cool nerd stuff in MK and wan chai

My iPhone 3GS is unlocked and I think I read somewhere about a at&t pay as you go plan with data? I think that would do as long as I don't need a ridiculous contract or something like that. as long as I can get a sim with Data that doesnt have a contract for like 2 years I'll be happy.

What did you mean by that exactly?

I have 2 days free to do what I want, so I might try to spend one at Disneyland.

Apart from DL what is there to do in LA for someone who hasnt been there before?
