I just race switched so I figure it would be appropriate to derank all the way to bronze. I was a terran and switched to zerg. I always thought it was a more interesting race and I just want to try something new.
I know I probably could have just played and let the system place me where I should fall, but hey, I'll give out some ladder points and it'll be fun to play in bronze again for a bit.
I had a blog about it a bit ago. Are there any "must read" guides for zergs. From my understanding we're a reactive race, but what does that mean exactly and how do I go about transitioning from terran which is a very proactive race?
Anyway, this blog is half to keep me busy while waiting in ques to f10 n
I also decided I'm gonna change my persona. I'm gonna go and be BM now. Idk why, just feel like switching it up.

What's the point of going and being BM lol.
My advice, learn the power of spines in ZvP and ZvZ. ZvT is more about just denying the harrass (Drops, hellions, marine tank pressures).
Just know when you can and can't drone is key, and you'll learn that by playing more / getting better at scouting.

Haha, good luck, dude. I tried to off race as zerg once. It was an epic fail. When you play as zerg, you will understand the "zerg tears."
For resources, I recommend 12 Weeks with the Pros if you have time. There, actual pros come to discuss their strategic thinking.
Zerg strategies on SC2 Recommended Threads thread are pretty good as well (I wish there is the same influx of resources for terran :/ )

Another way to quickly derank is to play zerg, which you're worse at, which will cause you to lose rank.

just wondering. isn't it better practice to face people not in bronze, especially if you are much better mecahnically than most bronze players, which i think you are cause you are deranking.

That's probably correct, it would just frustrate me to play hard and then get lol'd on by players better than me.
I ju played my first game against some bronze kid so I'll upload the replay here in a minute and see what you guys think of my basic zerg skills.

I really don't see the point in delibreatly de ranking. If you're worse as the new race you'll move down anyway and get practice playing the new race as you do it. Seems like you're just wasting your own time.

You could be a good sport and just six pool a dozen games. You'll learn a little. Or you could just play random and generally not get all upset over your rank. If you want to learn a new race just do so in a sportsmanlike fashion.
I started Zerg, but went random. When I started random, I would only build marines as terran, as protoss I wouldn't build warpgates.
