Ok. Most likely you guys don't remember my blog from last year when I went on vacation to Toronto. Well, Yet again am I staring in a hotel in the most expensive city to live in (within Canada). Today is my first day back for this vacation, and I am going to blog about it just like last year.
Ok, I packed up and left the house somewhere around 2:30pm. We didn't even get out of the neighborhood before an old lady turned into a driveway right in front of our car, forcing us to slam on the breaks, I could tell right then that this was going to be one hell of a weekend. We stop for gas and water, and head out on the highway.
We make it to Toronto with minimal traffic (got a little slow once we got downtown, but nothing serious. We pulled up to the hotel, and parked in what we thought was the Valet parking area (so we can get a Valet to bring our car to the underground parking). We were informed by a nearby taxi driver that we were actually parked in the Taxi dropoff area. We moved, and parked closer to the front doors. We waited for another 10 or so mins, and the cars behind us started to get restless. Two ladies in the car behind us came out and started yelling at us to move our car.
My dad being the over-reactor that he is, immediately started screaming back "NOBODY TELLS ME WHAT TO DO, I AM JUST WAITING FOR THE VALET. I AM NOT MOVING". This went on for a few mins until my mother came out of the hotel (after checking in) and drove the car into the valet parking area herself. About a min later, the Valet finally came out of the hotel, but the car was already parked. According to him, he was the only Valet working at the time, and he had to run around a lot. My dad was pretty pissed off (mostly because the romanian women behind us were telling him what to do).
We let him calm down, and then went over to the Eaton center. We went back and forth through all the floors, going into the relevant stores. My father probably looked through every watch store he saw. I went into The Source and bought myself some new over-ear headphones. They were on sale for 25 dollars, and I got a warranty that gives 2 free replacements (which is really good, I go through headphones like toilet paper). My mother insisted on going through Victoria's Secret, but I just told them If i can survive whats on the internet I can survive that.
We finished shopping at the EC, and decided to go to the Baton Rouge for our dinner. We had some spinach dip for an appetizer. My parents ordered ribs and steak, but I decided on the Chicken Breast Platter with Fries and Cinnamon Apples on the side. I got my meal and started eating. The chicken's breading was light, allowing me to taste the chicken easier. The fries were piled high on the plate and were perfectly salted/seasoned. There was so many fries I couldn't finish them all, but I did manage to eat all my chicken and my cinnamon apples. Overall it was great food for a perfectly reasonable price.
So now I am back at the hotel. My parents are planning to meet up with my brother at the train station (he had to work till 8:30, couldn't get it off) and bring him to the hotel. In the meantime I am testing out my new headphones, and writing up this blog.
Tommorow I head to the CNE, so we will see what happens there tommorow night.
