I'm not self conscious, thank God, so when I enter the free weights area and see buff 6'6'' Navy guys pumping 200 pounds I'm not intimidated or whatever. But I'm tired all the time, sore all the time, and even though it's nice waking up every day and realizing I'm a little bit stronger/fitter, some exercises just annoy me to death.
Case in point: calf exercises. What the hell do I have to do to strengthen these things? Four weeks now and they haven't gotten much bigger after, what, the third day? And the exercise itself (basically going on your toes, going back down, repeat) maks you look ridiculous.
Anyway, that's the end of this little rant. What routine do you gym rats have and how can you tell you're any stronger than the day before, besides being stupidly sore?
