So last night i got into an argument with this 17 year old kid that supposedly attended IT Tech and we got an argument with a friend so me as tired as i was was just basically defending myself and clicked a link and what do u know... a mirror of the destiny ddos case.

During the argument after i clicked the link my skype call crashed and there was like a circle spinning with an error as if my internet was gone. While that was happening i was logging into starcraft 2 and there was a box a sort of a blue box that sometimes appears when your going to play in offline mode or when u have really bad internet. Anyways it got through that after the Raynor loading screen i got to the login screen

but after i clicked on Play offline and logged off and went back into the login screen everything seemed ok, i did a ping test and it was on 15 so thats average for my connection.

Its been a day since the argument and my internet is still fine but is it really something i should worry about?

His skype name is jessejohns1994 and he appears as the alias highteck redneck.

Quick Edit: He mentioned something about a keylogger, is there a good softwere to detect that?

The only antivirus i have is AVG's Internet Security 2011 Full version for now

Ah man, that sucks. It's been happening a lot lately. I don't know much about it, but I know Destiny was using a proxy IP so he wouldn't be bugged by it anymore. I don't know if that's a possibility for you, or something you want to look into or not, but maybe worth it.

Unless you did something stupid like run a random file or not keep your browser / Windows up to date, you don't have a keylogger. All that happened is you gave the guy your IP and he typed it into some scriptkiddie site that flooded you briefly.

Yeah, as long as you didn't actually run anything, you're fine. Don't worry about it; this kid is just a little bitch.

Unless he owns his own botnet [ which I doubt ] , he is using his own connection to flood you with a program he probably didn't write, and it is easily detectable and if you keep doing it your ISP will detect it and send you letters. You do not need to have attended any specialist IT course to know a few things about network protocols and how to get someones IP over skype.

Do you reckonise those emails ? Because if that is your personal contact list I would change all your password and run all your security software. If you don't have any, purchase some.

No i didnt do any of those thanks for the relief, thing is that my internet only crashed for 2 seconds after he said he would i literally ran starcraft 2 after pressing the OK to the offline error i could play like normally

Funny, that list of e-mails seems like a copy/paste from a Lulz Security (LulzSec) release.

It is... Same logins and passwords in the same sequence in the same format. Also, the real scary people generally don't waste their time threatening other people and drawing attention to themselves.

Change your IP. He just used an IP logger. He installed nothing and can not find your new IP if you stop talking to him. Those emails are not true. he copied and pasted them from a LulzSec file. Restart your modem and remove him from skype.
