It's a combination of sounds and youtube videos that has spread across the internet.

Anyways, I realized that I really like that jazz song. For video game music, I have to say that I like it better than a lot of other songs written by well-established jazz artists.

Miles Davis' Kind of Blue album is all pretty mellow chill jazz and its an album any person looking to get into jazz should have imo. Keith Jarrett also has a lot of nice beautiful mellow music, and most of his works have my favorite drummer Jack DeJohnette.

as far as Touhou jazz you can look up Swing Holic as well, they have 6 albums of songs out.

Miles Davis is pretty much THE jazz trumpeter. Keith Jarrett did play with Davis (but has some more recent stuff too).

The song you posted is more or less a straight ahead jazz ballad, you'll find this kind of stuff among the "older" jazz, as opposed to bebop, though there's some hard bop stuff like that?

You can't go wrong with pretty much anyone who played with Davis. Cannonball Adderley, Hank Jones, John Coltrane (though some of his stuff is a bit "harder" to listen to). Can't forget Duke Ellington too.

However, trying to suggest "jazz songs" is as hard as telling someone to suggest you "rock songs". The genre's gigantic. It's huge. Everything from big band to prog jazz is in there, and there's a huge variety.

EDIT: Oh, and I'd have to say, give that jazz music by well-established artists a try. Nothing wrong with video game music, it's good stuff, but those jazz musicians are ridiculously talented. They're legends for a reason, and if you listen closely, the small nuances, the tiny touches they add that make a song perfect are there.

Haha yeah, definitely didn't mean to put down "well-established artists" or anything. And I'm not saying I'm really into video game music. I was just saying "The Fragrance of Dark Coffee" sounds really fucking good.

Uyama Hiroto is dope

If you're looking for more mellow type stuff then Miles Davis is your guy
Jazz liberatorz is raw as well, but it mixes jazz + hip hop

if you like jazz/hip hop I recommend giving my compilation a try :D

Stan Getz

Dennis Rollins

Dizzie Gillespie, Thelonious Monk & Art Blakely are also worth mentioning.

Also if you like the music in your OP so much you could try the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks by the Seatbelts. Really amazing music accompanying the anime.
