steadily and surely i see less and less threads i feel compelled to post in. pretty soon, i think ill end up reverting back to a lurker, then maybe even disappear

sometimes ill type out a response to a post, read the post again, read the posts which come after it, then go "nevermind" and exit the tab. ive lost my desire to sift

I feel exactly the same way actually. But that's because I already promised myself to do that way back last year when all that shit drama happened. Regardless, I would lurk and would find good read but find hesitant to respond whether because I'm lazy to comment, lack of desire to, or simply I'm fulfilling my promise but I get your feeling...

Not much of a help but just saying I feel yea.

Mine's mostly due to how dead the bw section feels right now. BW strategy is really where I want to see more posting, but that just doesn't happen like it used to

My advice: just be a constructive user of the forum and post when you have something to say. Don't view it in absolutes of Poster or Lurker. You post when you post, you browse when you browse, and everyone's happy.

i mean i see very little i actually feel like responding to, and even when i do i sometimes dont. feel like my message won't get across, just lost in a sea of nameless posters who write everything as if everybody else will read them and remember who they are. suppose they're aspiring to some unknown supernerd ideal? kinda get that sense when i read posts where people say "baller" like its the ultimate thing

I agree, especially when people get really in depth about a discussion it takes a commitment to get involved. Then you have the opposite with the LR threads that get 3 pages of 2 word responses every few seconds, you'll be lucky if even one person scans over your input. But TL is pretty awesome since theres no requirement of posting, so just post whenever you feel like, for example this blog.

I guess the problem will always be that there are people for whom posting is a, "Should I or shouldn't I post on this particular topic..." and people whose first instinct is to post immediately on any topic. The quality of those posts may be lower, but the bigger issue is that they're just going to drown the thought out replies from seldom-posters.

Lately I just stick to the blogs, to be honest.

I don't blame you Kurtis. There are too many useless threads that I don't even bother trying to find the good ones anymore (There aren't many anyways). I do stick to the regular threads i post in and once in a blue moon I'll post in a good thread
