help understanding home-made dvd making

Br3ezy United States720 Posts February 02 2011 15:28 GMT #1 So heres the materials I used. 1 sony DVD+R disk 120min/4.7GB disk DVD Flick Program video file details Length 1:35:15 resolution 608x256 data rate 903kbps total bitrate 1026kbps frame rate 23frames/second audio 122kbps 2 stereo 48k Hz To record with dvd flick, I am using NTSC-film target format and the bitrate is auto-fit so it fits on the dvd the best. Then for audio, its all just auto. Now my problem is that whenever i make dvds, it will be very lagless on my computer, fraggy and annoying in my dvd player, then at a friends house it will work perfectly. Why does this happen? This is really annoing because when i test it in my dvd player, it always seems laggy so idk whether to tell if its good or not and I thought it wouldn't be because I used NTSC-film which is north american standard at 23fps help pls!

tofucake Hyrule19221 Posts February 02 2011 16:18 GMT #2 If it works on your computer and your friend's DVD player, then your DVD player sucks. Although, with NTSC you should have a frame rate of 23.976 (24000 frames per 1001 seconds). If it's an older DVD player it might not know what to do with 23 fps, which would cause stuttering.
