EPTFirst off, huge props to all mods, blues, red, and the community in general for establishing such an awesome site. Not only is TL the best at covering StarCraft 1 and 2, but every forum is constantly active. I've spent so much time just reading random stuff. TL's like my news for everything now, haha.
Some random history of my stay on TL. My college roommate happened to be really good friends with SemiOldGuy. It doesn't seem like he posts often nowadays, but I'm sure he's behind the scenes making lots of cool stuff happen. Anyway, now we both live in the same apartment; it's been like that since my junior year in college. It's pretty awesome. It feels really strange telling him in person, so I'd figure TL would be a good place to say: "you're freaking awesome. I'm really fortunate that we met."
So yeah, SOG introduced me to the pro-scene of SC1 beginning with some random PL match. But that single match made me go wtf, these gamers are frakking insane. So one of these teams happened to be CJ Entus. At that point, they were pretty godly (Xellos, Iris, Savior, Much, Memory+NBS for 2s, Darkelf, Kwanro etc). It's like... how do you lose with such a rape team? But yeah, Darkelf instantly became my favorite pro-gamer during the season. The LR threads with ace matches would be like "WTF Darkelf, why not send another one of the ace players?!?!" But I was always confident watching him in the clutch. He like never lost a game when I watched him.
So yeah, thanks to livestream and everything, watching live games is no longer a problem. But I remember SOG and I would always be trying to find random streams for OGN/MBC etc. It was pretty hilarious sometimes: Buffer into G_G. This even happened during some of our Finals parties (shoutout to RandomKorean, Xeris, Diggity, whoever else I forgot) for crashing our apartment during all the OSL/MSL finals. These eventually got big enough for the SoCal stuff to be hosted at Joe's Pizza where we consistently had 100+ show up. It was pretty amazing.
BTW, it freaking sucks that the old CJ is gone =(. It's so weird not seeing Xellos/Iris/Much/Savior on that team anymore.
Iunno, I'm bored now. Stork is playing in the OSL stream. Oh yeah! So I got an interview for Riot Games (makers of League of Legends) and I bombed it. Oh man, it was FML, haha...
So one of the question was, "what do you not like about your current/old job?" My answer literally could have been anything else. But it ended up being somewhere along the lines of, "I don't get paid enough."
WTF was I thinking?!?!? Sigh, I believe that answer cost me that spot. God I was pissed at myself. So yeah for future reference guys... don't answer your dream job interview question like that. Sometimes you can't be too honest.
I currently play LoL and main/dominate with most AP heroes; my comp isn't good enough for SC2. My comp's been with me since freshman year of college, in other words... 6 years at least. I'm just waiting for D3 to come out. TBH, I enjoy watching SC being played more than playing it myself. My execution just isn't there.
Not much else to write about atm... might update at some point in the near/late future. Oh yeah, Hwang Mi Hee is absolutely gorgeous. Aki Hoshino, too although not so much for me anymore.
