Finally - A forum entry almost killed me from laughing. After all these unfunny trolls, it just took some carelessness to create a real joke!

That reminds me of this story I read about some verizon representative not understanding decimals and overcharging some dude 100x the amount they advertised.

Fun fact: What BoOMuKI said is actually correct. Though it is (probably) only based on a translation error.

The english "430.000" is equivalent to the german "430,000". The meaning of "comma" and "point" is switched in the german language.

Ok, that's a translation error by me, sorry. I just copied the text and left the numbers, thanks for spotlighting it.

I went into a liquor store once, to get a bottle of water... and the guy behind the counter was talking with a customer about how big the lotto was getting out here in CA... it was like 50 million at this point.

I shit you not, the next part of the conversation developed into: "It's getting close to a billion." "How many millions are in a billion anyways?" "I think its 100..."

They were genuinely confused. They exchanged a couple more lines, but that is all I can remember verbatim... so when I couldn't take it anymore... I just piped up "One Thousand. There are 1,000 millions in a billion."

The funny thing is, they looked at me like I just made it up, both if them!! I think they were pretty sure I had made it up, because they hadn't heard of "One Thousand Millions" before.

*facepalm*
