"What have you done in a year?" It's pretty vague so I'll explain. What have you done within a years time. Have you accomplished any goals, did you do the exact same thing you did last year, bought a new house, dating someone new? Etc.
Last year I lost weight, went to school, and worked. I find myself doing the same thing I did exactly last year, the year before that, and so forth. I asked myself this question today because I find myself extremely bored with my current life style.
How am I going to change my current boring lifestyle? Well, I've decided that I will continue to become fitter, find a new job in the mean time, and not go to school until after I join the military. I've enlisted in the U.S. Navy. I'm part of its DEP (Delayed Entry Program, I believe thats what its called).
The decision came to me after I asked myself this question. I'm just being insecure about the future to be honest. I'm currently 22 years old and I'm starting to see how bad the economy is. I've also noticed how it sucks to have a 4-6 year degree and not be able to work in your field because there is no work for you (welcome to working a minimum wage job to make a living). In my place of employment I feel that it has no real job security and I decided to move on with my life. I want job security, I want to be happy, I want to be successful (the money isn't important just something where I don't have feel like I can lose my job at any given moment).
I WANT all these things but I can't make it for myself because I'm limited to what my environment gives me. My decision to join the U.S. Navy was because there is job security and I'll have a career afterwards if I decide to leave after my contract. I feel like I'm going to be stepping into the right direction and I'll look back at this in 2011 and feel like I made the right decision.
In addition, I'm looking for a 2v2 partner for a SC2 tournament thats going to be happening in Miami. I don't think this Lan has any experience with Starcraft as some of their maps are 1v1 (blistering stands, lol). I'm more than happy to play with anyone 2v2. My account info is BromanceGiz 878.
