In 4 hours I'm taking off from my podunk town of Indianapolis, IN and flying to NYC for a couple of days of partying and crazing. I have a ton of stuff on my to-do list, I'm gonna check out some art, catch up with old friends and watch a few of my teammates play at IEM (hopefully I can get in without paying too much for comicon content!).
One of my oldest friends is studying at NYU. He's actually the korean who exposed me to pro brood war and we've got a long rivalry of Pole vs Korean, PvZ grudge matches.
I would love to find a pc-bang style cafe somewhere around NYU to play a little bit of broodwar and maybe show him sc2. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, if theres any cool stuff to check out in NYC that I might now have heard of, I'd love to find out about it.

The Cybercraft that's talked about in the NYC tourney is a really good one. It's not near NYU but honestly Flushing from NYU isn't too bad by subway and definitely what you'd want to check out. Obviously other good areas in NYC are Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, Southstreet Seaport, Chinatown Fair, etc. Enjoy your stay! =)

Hmmm, there used to be a big one called webzone or web2zone or something on Cooper square right near the Village Voice, but I'm not sure if it's still open as I haven't been around there in a while.

I work around the area. The place is definitely closed for some time now. It was also very overpriced anyway.

the net cafes in the city are small and horribly overpriced. Like KissBlade said just go to cybercraft in flushing. its a 30-45 minute subway ride from times square anyway.

Your gonna have to pay for comic con ticket to get in for IEM btw.
