I didn't expect you to answer. I don't expect you to respond.
I was only calling to say... Thank you.
I was telling the truth when I said I haven't been passionate about anything or anyone in a very long time. It had been so long that I had forgotten what it was like. Passion was some vague thing I had lost and was halfheartedly looking for. You reminded me what it was like again. What it felt like, that desire that overwhelms caution, fear, and selfishness; that motivates you to change yourself, to improve yourself just so you can satisfy that passion.
Even though things ended pretty badly between us, you left me craving that feeling, like I used to crave it. Before, I was content to live a dull and drab life, even though I knew I shouldn't be. Now my heart, not just my mind, feels its time to start looking for something to force me to change, to grow up.
And I have you to thank for that.
I guess this is goodbye.

Eh? If I were you I'd write it up as a note, electronic or not, and send it to her or him. It seems that this person has made a positive difference in your life and your thoughts might serve to motivate this person as well.
Everyone else: It can't be TL he's saying goodbye to. TL, for the majority, doesn't "force [one] to change, to grow up".
