hai guys, ive been messing about trying to learn the ins and outs of guitar rig, and I tried to record something resembling a song, so il put it up here in hopes some of you wanna take a whack at me and tell me why im so bad

thanks a ton guys

, seeing that people find it listenable is a huge motivation boost. I made some mistakes playing, and il try to polish that out. Also do you think I should try to get a drum program and maybe put in some easy drums ? Ive been using Rhythm Rascal but mostly for metal, when playing something like this I find that it has no sustain and the tone doesn't carry so it sounds blank, could someone recommend a solid drum program that doesn't take a monster computer to run?

XLN Addictive Drums is the shit and is definitely less intensive than some of the other libs(BFD, Toontrack EZ Drummer, etc).. I have it + the jazz expansion and I think its really dope.

the solo guitar is quite simple and boring... no feeling or phrasing.. try to think of a theme instead of just playing notes from a scale randomly.. also you can hear the hesitation in some parts, thats the biggest issue.. anyway i'm a bit drunk, just saying what i think, no harm intended

but otherwise keep it up man... how did you make the backing?

Its no problem man, I put it up here so I can get honest opinion and I thank you for it. I really should try to re record it and play it better because I messed up quite a bit on some parts, as for the back tracks, its just a clean guitar with some reverb and delay, just chords.

I think it sounds "nice" , but there's no real depth there. I mean, your intentions are great and the music is pleasant, but I'm not sure this music is really you. There's no exploration.

thanks so much for your feedback and suggestions everybody, I recorded 2 more things, trying to play them without too much errors and trying to get some sort of theme going inside them instead of just random improvisation, so if anyone wants to take a look, please be my guest.

these last two songs show an improvement, they have more melody. I like this style of songs, so I enjoyed them all.

the beginning of Distance somehow reminded me of the Diablo 1 song.

Wherever I may wander is my favorite so far. It reminds me of a dreamy relaxing morning with no problems and worries going trough my head.
