As Aiur lays in waste, it's forgotten people suffer the indignity of defeat from inferior hands. The High Templar, now segregated from their brethren of the Dark order, have felt their psi powers fade from their glorious might in the Brood Wars.

From all sides they face fearless, aggressive foes. The new and improved Terran infantry has proven superior to any threat they've faced. Emp's rain down upon the fearful Protoss forces, denying them their foremost layer of protection as well as their sacred psi powers. Regretfully, amidst the chaos in the evacuation of Aiur, the closely guarded secret technology of the shield battery appears to have been lost to the ages.
The Toss attempted to adapt, they built huge Colossus to burn through the Terran masses. But alas, the mighty colossus were easily slayed from above, by the far flung attacks of the Viking. They resurrected their mighty Dragoons, and equipped them with incredible new shields. Righteously, the Immortals crushed their former nemesis the Terran Siege Tank, but fell to the frenzied,
drug induced fire of Terran marines.
Seeing the rain of electromagnetic pulses falling upon the Protoss armada,and knowing they simply cannot exist without being able to draw psi energy and turning it into powerful force fields, the Archons lie in slumber. Fearful of sharing the fate of their Dark brethren. Who were pushed to utter extinction at the hands of the genocidal Terran Commander, Dustin Browder.
The Dark Templar held promise to cut down the puny Terran soldiers, only to have the heavens open up in a whirling scan, removing their Dark shroud. Void Rays filled the skies. and Terrans crumbled under the barrage. bypassing their precious wall-ins and dealing a blow directly to their hearts. It was believed that salvation had come at last to Aiur. Then something unbelievable happened. As an endless river of tears flowed from the Terran Command centers, a rumor was amidst that would prove to be true.
In response the evil Terran leader, Browder, struck again. Using an unknown technology, he was able to reduce the Void rays flux field projection. Not only were the Void rays unable to charge their full power,but they were also now unable to focus their energy at longer distances.

The Protoss masses cringed at this development. But with honor in their hearts, they swallowed what little pride they had left and stood up to Browder. Saying with one voice. "It's fine"

As defeats mounted, the Protoss were at a loss to know how to save their kind. In their Darkest hour, they decided to learn more about their Terran foes. Protoss intellectuals poured through the archives of information they had amassed, from captured Terran vessels and observer scans.
While looking into the warfare of earth's ancient past they looked closely at the origins of the Terran's current strategies and tactics.

The amphetamine educed Nazi blitzkrieg. Just as before, Humans shortened their lifespans for the promise of glory. Pushing out into enemy lands without properly securing their expansion across vast continents. Always assuming their enemies would crumble before their onslaught, never
preparing for the unthinkable, defeat in battle.
The Protoss also learned of the hit and run tactics of the Vietnam war. Where squads of infantry were dropped in and out of battle, and medical care was quickly provided as a result. They also saw how easily the Terrans could be baited into battle, far from their re-enforcements and overwhelmed by sheer numbers.
Weaknesses it seems, had been discovered.
In the histories of the European nations, the Protoss researches also stumbled upon a most counter intuitive people. They were invaded, even occupied, by many surrounding nations over hundreds of years. Yet their way of life survived. The were starved and drove from their home into foreign lands.Where they prospered. They were a people with proud hearts who fought passionately with a love of face to face battle. They joked as they read. "Those Terrans would have made fine Zealots"
But what was their secret? How had they survived while outnumbered and outgunned?

Inspired, the Protoss researches shared what they had learned with their Protoss elders. So it was decided, "Convene the Twilight Council, Unleash the Zealot hordes! Let them charge forward into battle against the Terran" They built monuments to bring them luck. For it was their only hope.

With increased numbers, protected by guardian shields and with support from the Stalker, the Zealots of Aiur charged forward into the Terran masses. What good is a gun when a 10 foot tall zealot cuts off
you hands?
Weakened by chronic drug use and dismayed by seemingly endless hordes of raging, hate filled zealots. The Terran infantry was surrounded and cut down. Force fields denied retreat, and in their haste and confidence for all or nothing battle, the Terrans failed to secure further resources. The hordes of Zealot led armies poured through Terran lines, preventing any thought of securing further income.
Forcing the Terrans to hide, like the cowards they are, behind their walls. The pathetic Terrans than attempted to avoid honorable battle and disrupt the Protoss advantage. Hoping to surprise attack and destroy the Protoss's life blood,probes and Nexus. But high in the air, above the Terran's position, the hidden eyes of the Protoss had observed the last ditch efforts of the Terran long before it would come to fruition.
Cannons had been placed, Stalkers seemed to appear in perfect positioning, out of thing air. With their resources dwindling, massive enemy hordes gathering just beyond the range of their tanks,and with no backup plan the Terrans admit defeat saying only "GG", while their buildings floated away. The next 10 minutes were wasted making void rays.
