I actually talk to most of my Drill SGT's from boot camp... but I also deployed with 3 of them, lol. 2 of them are pretty close friends, and the other is currently on his 5th(?) deployment.

I had always thought people only had a couple drill sergeants, like 1-3. Did you guys go through basic at really big bases or something?

Anything with armies makes me cringe. Why do they shout so much?? Do they try to imitate drill sergeants from movies, or is it the other way around, or both? And for the record, wal la -> voila!

I had 2-3 in my platoon, but there was 4 platoons with 2-3 per platoon so like around 12 drill sergeants in the company. So we got to know em all. But had our own as well.

Builds mental toughness, and helps simulates the stressful conditions that the soldiers might eb facing in the future.
Believe it or not, drill sergeants yelling and harassing saves lives.
