[H] Speakers

My ancient, low quality speakers that got me through bw broke and I went out and bought these. Normally I wouldn't ask something like this since you can just google, but I am having an issue and I don't want to repeat the same mistake.

I thought they were decent enough for the price but then I had a wtf! moment. Apparently the volume control on the speakers doesn't work when headphones are being used via the jack in the speakers... and that's a huge reason I even bother getting speakers besides listening to music w/o headphones on.

So, my price range is ~$60, looking for a 2.0 or maybe a 2.1 speaker system, preferably small so it doesn't take up too much space. And please, only suggest it if you know the volume controls work while headphones are attached because through some investigating it seems that there is a new trend for the volume controls to not work when headphones are attached which sucks!

btw, I actually don't have a good way to use the rear speakers now so I'm currently using it as a 2.1 setup and it still works amazing.

As for the volume controls, the hardware volume control for the speaksrs only changes the volume for the speakers, but all other volume controls (keyboard, mouse, software) all affect the headphone volume when using the supplied port.

I know you said your price range is only ~60 bucks, but if you can wait awhile and spring more money towards it. get Klipsch 2.1 promedia speakers. One of the best 140 dollar investments I've had ever and they blow my old logitech speakers out of the water.

and volume control works with headphones, also has 2 knobs, one for woofer one for overall volume.

These have served me and AraqirG very well and are extraordinarily cheap for 5.1. Jump on 'em. :D
