I'm curious if any Sony Vaio laptop users with the Nvidia Geforce GO 7 Series have been able to start SC2. A lot of our video cards aren't supported by the newest drivers from Nvidia, and are only support by older drivers found on the Sony website (last update in 2007).
Here's my error log:

Error code: E_FAIL (80004005)
"Starcraft II has encountered an unexpected D3D/OpenGL error. If the problem persists, for more information consult our support website at http://starcraft2.com/support."
I'm using a Vaio VGNAR320E with a Geforce 7400 Go. I found another person with the same model laptop as me and he has been getting the same exact error message. So is there really no way for me to play SC2 beta on this laptop or are there some alternate drivers that might work or something? Anybody have any help for me? thanks
I've tried using these modded desktop drivers for the laptop, http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/14037-v9813-vista-32bit-sony/ but to no avail

I'm actually using windows 7, but I had the same error with vista. And I've tried installing those drivers in the nvidia driver link but,

Lol sony cock blocking the driver. i can't see how the card is different that it warrants a sony only driver.
I'd just install it anyways see what happens if the dam thing locks up i'll just re install windows or system restore etc.

seriously... I've already tried installing those drivers, they just don't work. Saying how it's incompatible or can't find the hardware or something, don't remember
also directx update didn't fix it

Its most likely a problem with outdated drivers, or at least it sounds that way. Try finding a way to install those drivers, ATI has the same problems, but there is a tool called "ati mobility modder" that enables desktop drivers to be installed onto laptops. Do some googling and see if you can find anything, im sure someone out there has doen the same for nvidia.

had a similar problem with call of duty on a sony vaio, fixed it with driver update!
