Hello TL, I'll be going to TW (Taipei) with a group of uni friends in August before we start our final year! It's a bros' trip so the usual plans people make (places like LUXY) have already been made.
This is probably a long shot, but does anyone (especially our TW readers) have suggestions for places (clubs and drinking holes esp, we're terribly boring people) to go to, sights to see, restaurants to eat at? I could always ask fellow Singaporeans since TW and HK are very popular vacay destinations for us, but they usually cough up 904832489028432 places to shop at and it's not quite our bag.
Other misc. advice would be very much appreciated
Oh, and if you read this blog for the rep packs the next 2 are coming shortly~

If you don't mind putting yourself at (mild) risk, night market, night market, night market. Best thing to do. Abuse the subway system. Also, restaurants are amazing and very inexpensive (for the most part). I don't have any off the top of my head, but be sure to try "牛肉麵." Translated is "beef noodles". It's essentially extremely tender slices of beef, in a broth, with nice thick noodles. Heavenly, if you ask me. Anyways, for travel, buy a pass, and then just go everywhere you can think of. Just abuse the fact that you can get virtually everywhere using the Subway, if not walking.
Sights to see, I don't know if I can recommend any off the top of my head. Maybe the Palace Museum. As for Taipei 101, go there and shop until it gets dark. The sight at the top of TP101 is so much better at night. And you have to pay to go to the top, so may as well get the best for your money.

A lot of the little random restaurants on the street are pretty good - if you don't really have much of a set plan it's always pretty cool to just take advantage of the MRT and go all over the city. There are just random cool places to go all over.
