OK so heres the story
(something similar to the song we have ALL been watching in the sc2 section)
I have been playing starcraft since before broodwars.. I played in WGT... I played in PGT... I played on Iccup... I went to the wcg regionals in my hometown... EVERY YEAR...
Yet... I do not have a beta key, no matter how many accounts I make on battle.net, I do not have a key
BUT
My friends boyfriend who is a GIANT wow nerd... does ( he went to blizzcon TO GET THE MOUNT NOT FOR THE BETA KEY)
So, after finding out he had a key and him knowing my starcraft history I figured he would sell his key to me at a fair price.. $80 dollars... no... he would not.
So i went over the other day to check out the beta because he said I could play it.
I played his qualifiers for him (placement matches) and ranked him into gold.. not bad, was going for platinum but nonetheless I ranked decently.
I go over today and hes in bronze... fucked all the work I put into the placement matches and still will not sell me his account. He said to me, "I hardly play it, but I still want to..."
This is blasphemy! I should be playing this game not him! I've been playing starcraft since before I had pubic hair and I feel its RIGHT for me to have a beta key and not him...
Opinions?

If you're on good terms with him just make arrangements to share. I'm sharing with 2 other people right now, and we're all pretty avid BW players so we all want to play. He probably won't play long hours so if he's unwilling, he's just a dick.

I dont really know him amazingly well, I've known his girlfriend since kindergarten...Do you ever have issues with people trying to be online at the same time? If we make an arrangement like this am I allowed to redownload the client off battle.net from my computer at home?

no one gives a shit about the "hard work" you put into qualifying him into gold. this is the beta where you are having fun and testing, not a competition. it has been said over and over that competitive players are not the only people that blizzard wants testing the game out.

I know and agree with this, do you have a beta key? Ever wish some idiot wow fan didnt get his mount so u could play beta?
Thats how I feel, ( I would of given him the mount for free too)

I don't think anyone has the "right" to a beta key because of how much starcraft they've played and especially not because of a few placement ladder games, none of these things entitle you to anything really.
I get that you're mad but it's completely understandable that he wants to keep the key he received completely fairly from Blizzcon.

He might also eventually convert to being a SC fan. You never know.

Maybe if you didn't do the placement matches for him he woulda gotten rocked, went 1-9, gone to the lowest league, and given up on his key... then you could taken over.
