For 100$ camera, they are really about the same. Just go with whichever one looks better to you/on sale. Have you considered buying a used compact digital camera? You can probably get a better model for your price range.

Actually, I strongly recommend buying a used camera. Look on kijiji or craigslist

You can't get good pics out of a hundred dollar camera
Id save up for a canon or sony.

can't lose with the canon A480 at that price range..

I agree with everyone else. You can't get good pictures with a $100 point and shoot. I would spend more money to get a Canon point and shoot.
|
get a used panasonic poitn and shoot (lumix series) leica lenses shine even on these
taken with lumix dmc-fx12
which i think can be had for less than 50 dollars used
|
I would love to save more money, but University is coming soon and I'm already saving hardcore for that. I could possibly put in another $100, but I'm going to be stretching myself thin :/
|
and if you are going to spend anything near 200 dollars, do yourself a favor and get yourself an used dslr, instead a fancy new p and shoot
for example canon 20d can be had for around that much nowadays
|
just like computers, there are newer and better cameras every day (or at least every month). so how often should one upgrade?
|
i really dont think cameras are improving at a fast late taking high end dslrs in to mind: only once a year, a new model will come out with minor improvements such as better noise control at high iso etc nothing ground shattering

if one is that stupid or does not care to learn, then he should not spend 200 dollars on camera

Sony's point-and-shoot compact cameras are better than most I've compared with.

Neither of them are digital cameras, but film cameras. You are going to have a difficult time finding used DSLR below 100 dollars. Around 200 dollars is at least what you will have to pay for an old used (but decent) DSLR.
|
You could get a used DSLR body for ~$150-200 for no problem, but be wary of buying used lenses.
