Man...this is seriously one of the best games I've seen in a while.

+ Show Spoiler +
Soulkey played so damn well in the late game...too bad you just can't get back from that kind of disadvantage.

So...Soulkey hurts Iris to a considerable degree with his mutas. Then Iris does this really weird move where he moves all of his marines to Soulkey's natural threatening a break. Unfortunately, there are a number of sunks up and lurkers are out. Iris looks to be screwed, as Soulkey this entire time was still wreaking havoc in Iris's base with his mutas.

But good god, Iris's recovery was amazing. He desperately held map control in the midgame, even after a failed 3 tank 1 vessel push (Soulkey kept sniping the tanks), and managed to secure an easy third with mines right after siege. Then a little later, he sneaks an expo at the bot right, and is able to slowly regain his deficit with a four base economy.

Soulkey found out about the bot right too late, and so despite playing phenomenally, as the game went on, his economy lost steam while Iris's chugged along.

God this was such a fun game to watch.

Yeah I thought it was a very entertaining and intense game. Soulkey played quite well but Iris just kept hanging in there. Iris's play was quite sloppy at times, but he still managed to persevere, and when he won it was just amazing. Great game, definitely the best in the match in my opinion.
Wan step ahead!

Yeah him and Much are the reasons why CJ is my favourite team . Iris's late game in all MUs is simply amazing . I'm sad that he is slumping right now . I hope he can step it up for CJ to make the winners league playoffs .

Just finished watching that. What an awesome game.

I've always been a big fan of Iris, he always seems to deliver entertaining games.

Soulkey has the same problem as most younger players. He simply has trouble with decision-making in the late-game, focusing on all the wrong things. Older players like Iris are much better at looking at the big picture and understanding what's important. Which as the game goes on becomes more important than pure mechanics.

It wasn't so much his decision making...it was not being able to touch Iris' third, and not scouting his bot right expo way too late. Even though he gained a considerable advantage in the midgame, it slipped away from him and turned into a deficit biting him in the ass in the late game.

Iris banked on keeping pressure up and holding map control to keep those bases and played like his life depended on it.

Iris tends to fuck up people's decision making because he forces them to react to so many things.

He doesn't actually make the best decisions himself, sometimes attacking low priority or well defended targets. But at his best, the overall philosophy and strategy of being constantly aggressive gives him more advantages than disadvantages.
