But there's still plenty of games out there, but crysis is definitely the one if you want to see how far you can push your hardware.

Also aI don't want to have the like super pushing game, just something that will let me get some good performance from my hardware. The new Alien versus Predator (haha just joking xP) Mmm, I don't know, maybe Spore ;D that game was pretty fun and addictive. Need for Speed Shift is really nice to play, the first person view in NFS:Shift is pretty awesome = ] And of course Starcraft 2 (when it comes out)

With my core i7 and 5870 setup, I barely get 50FPS on high settings. WIth your ancient first-gen phenom and 9800, you'll be lucky to hit 30 FPS on medium settings with Crysis. There you have it.

I thought you'd need dual 5870's to do that well.. need to read up lol

When the 9800GTX was the absolute king of graphic cards that everyone drooled upon with a $600 price tag? Present day, a $99 Radeon 4850 rapes the shit out of the 9800GTX.

As previously posted, the most computer stressing game is Crysis. I think you'd probably prefer a good game though so look for something else.
