Season 16

There's a saying for this particular season of liquibets: The Calm Before the Storm. You've got GSL, SSL, and VSL going on like usual, and there was nothing really crazy going on... But once the new season starts, it's going to be chaos... Since BlizzCon is on its way!

So let's get ready to evaluate and analyze what went down this season:

For the 6th time in a row... soO believers missed out on 7 crucial LB points...

And there you have it. That was pretty much it for this season. It's a shame that VSL scheduled the team league the way they did because it was impossible for me to make liquibets for them...

Moving on... Let's look at our top 10!

Quite honestly... I was expecting ZigguratOfUr to just win the whole thing on his own. He never really had a huge lead above the others but he was always at #1 and it seemed like no one would really catch up to him... That is until showstealer (perfect name btw) decided to step it up at the very last second. It's crazy how often this happens in the world of liquibets...

So without further ado, CONGRATULATIONS to ZigguratOfUr and showstealer1829!!!

Thank you very much to everyone who participated for Season 16. Season 17 should be starting up soon so stay tuned and get those bets ready! (j/k it's already started. R1CH the wizard at it again~)

My biggest regret is that I didn't realize I was doing well in liquibets until earlier this month, and missed so many chances to rub it into other people's faces.

Good job you two! Interesting time to end the season, but happy I finally made the top 10. I can't believe we actually had almost 10,000 people in the earlier seasons.

It was an honor. What's the story with Choya?

Edit: What am I thinking - thanks SEEKER! I know some of us liquibetters can be really quiet, but we sure do appreciate the diligent updating of liquibet. It makes the games fun for me. I don't really have any friends that play, and it's what makes SC2 a full experience for me as a viewer.

The problem with LB ranking is that you don't easily see how did a player arrive at their losses wrt the first place - did they miss votes or vote wrong? It would be interesting to see votes missed/done in the results, or even filter by it. I guess noone is done code that given how arcane the system is, but would it be possible to provide some data dump to play with?

As I said in the other thread, this season I made sure to not miss votes - that lead to a big improvement in my ranking, yet I am not even top 100. Are there people below me who also voted on everything, or am I actually the worst better ever? Hard to guess without the data!
