Season 14

If you’re like me, you love StarCraft. If you’re like me, then you’re an absolute fanatic and you scream out “passion overwhelming” whenever you see the opportunity. If you’re like me, then you know that 2016 was a bad year for StarCraft and you were heartbroken by all the bad news that came about.
If you’re wondering why this recap is so late, it’s because I was feeling bitter. Proleague has officially ended, and with that, came the disbandment of SK Telecom T1, KT Rolster, CJ Entus, Samsung Galaxy KHAN, Afreeca Freecs, and MVP. SSL is no more and that means only GSL remains as a premiere tournament within Korea. With so much bad news being revealed, I found it very difficult to find the desire to write a recap this season…
But alas, the show must go on. Yes, the StarCraft scene has suffered a dramatic setback. But as long as TL still exists, as long as liquibet still exists, as long as there are people that still want to participate, and as long as StarCraft is still going, then I’ll keep going as well. So let’s do this, ya dig?

This season of liquibets was a hard fought one. But as it happens with every season, just one vote is sufficient enough to completely turn the tide. GSL and Proleague both had such incredible players and an amazing talent pool that it was heavily dependent on the StarCraft gods for you to get the points you wanted. And then of course, came the KeSPA Cup. Or should I say Neeb Cup? For those of you who constantly believed in Neeb and voted for him despite the fact that he was going up against the best of the best… Congratulations, you earned a crap ton of points and showed everyone just how strong the foreigner belief can be when it comes to liquibetting.

So then, shall we go ahead and look at the Top 10 fighters of the world?

It may have only been a one point difference, but in liquibets, one point is all it takes to win it all. A valiant effort by Topin and the nine others, but we do have our Season 14 champion in the end.

So without further ado, CONGRATULATIONS to Thomasmarkle !!!

Huzzah! Was waiting for this! This season was probably one of the harder seasons I feel with so many players being on and off their game so quickly. GL and HF for Season 15!
