After seven grueling months, another season of liquibet concludes. However, it wouldn't be liquibets without fierce battles for the top spot. This season particularly left all of us gripping on the edge of our seats as the competition never stopped heating up. The reason this specific season was one of the most difficult seasons is because the surprising turnouts for racial distributions and all kinds of upsets occurred simultaneously. 2014 GSL Season 1 only had three Terran players in Code S and 2014 GSL Season 2 only had four. So all those liquibetters out there who loved to vote for Terran had no choice but to change up their usual game plan and try to find the beauty behind voting for the winners of PvZ/PvP/ZvZs. WCS AM and EU both had many moments where the favorites did not manage to overtake their foreign opponents, and sometimes even against Korean opponents (Jaedong getting knocked out 0-2 in both seasons is a really good example) Throw in the chaos that was the SK Telecom Proleague on top of that. We had to suffer through four whole rounds of favorites losing to underdogs, momentum shifts, obvious outcomes vs. non obvious outcomes, and so much more. (Seriously, MVP grabbing 2nd place overall for Round 2 really took all the voters on a thrilling ride)
This season's top 10 truly deserve to be up here. Their diligence and dedication in making sure they didn't miss a single liquibet definitely needs to be brought into the spotlight. This season was full of action and as we observed multiple upsets and comebacks occur. I kept a close eye on the rankings and whenever I thought that a certain user was too ahead to be overtaken, I was always proven wrong. One particular upset that needs to be mentioned is the smema vs. Mevious showdown. smema was killing it in this season of liquibets. He held 1st place for so long and was so far ahead in points that I was so sure that he was going to win it all. But Mevious came out of nowhere and threw him out of his throne. In fact, you don't even see smema in the top 10 anymore Oo;; So without further ado, CONGRATULATIONS TO MEVIOUS FOR WINNING THIS SEASON OF LIQUIBETS!!!

Or at least, that's what I WOULD have said if this was last week...

Link to SC2 Liquibets Season 8 Rankings Your eyes do not deceive you. Yes, we actually have two winners this season. It was a completely unexpected outcome but aiononline came out of nowhere and tied for 1st place with Mevious. A shoutout to him and his tremendous effort to stay on top of his game at all times. He and Mevious both finished off the season with 306 points during a season that was full of unpredictability. Well done both of you!
So without further ado, CONGRATULATIONS to Mevious and aiononline!!!
Thank you very much to everyone who participated for Season 8. Season 9 should be starting up soon so stay tuned and get those bets ready!

Gratz to the winners!
And smema - what happened? He was top 3 for months and just never seemed to miss a beat, but at the last moment fell apart

Oh nice, I'm 27th, that's my best so far. It's kinda funny tbh, since these days I don't really follow SC2 scene that much. I watch an occasional stream here and there, but that's it.

I had only 202 of 276 votes made even though I'm here morning, day and night. I call notification shenanigans.

Admittedly Season 8 ran longer than it should have, but there were several complications involved as to why this happened. Rest assured that Season 9 will begin with 2014 WCS Season 3 and conclude with 2014 WCS Season 3. (maybe Global Finals)
